Züst & Bachmeier (Bremen) GmbH has its own company premises with several special warehouses, loading facilities and the office building shown above. The total premises cover approx. 6,000 m² and are integrated in an outstanding new infrastructure in Bremen port. The beginnings The beginnings of ZÜST & BACHMEIER (BREMEN) GMBH go way back to 1911, when Giovanni Züst and his partner Bachmeier set up their company using both their names. The objective of the company was to offer professional transport services to commerce and industry. Even back in those early days, this meant not only the pure transport of goods from A to B, but also initial service functions such as packaging, customs formalities, etc. As part of the company's changing fortunes, it was then sold in the early '80s to the Swedish group Ratos / Inter Forward. The interim period In 1993, Ratos then parted with the logistics division again, and sold the completely acquired company of Züst & Bachmeier in individual parts. Matthias Abend, the current managing partner, took this opportunity to acquire the transport company with its long history. After acquiring many years of experience in managerial positions in the logistics industry, he now grasped this chance of implementing his objectives of customer orientation, specialisation and quality in his own responsibility, and independent of major corporations.
