The Pak Shaheen Group had its origins in 1946 when the family of the present shareholders acquired the ship agency activities of H. Bird and Company, a British owned business based in Karachi. Since that time, the Group steadily developed in maritime related enterprises with particular emphasis on port and stevedoring operations. It was however, the arrival of containerization to Pakistan in the late 1970s, early 1980s, that really witnessed the growth of Pak Shaheen into a large sized logistical service provider. Today, the Group is divided into eight Business Units, covering the following transport related operations: The companies represent major national and international Groups such as CMACGM (France), Kalmar (Sweden), Denholm Bahr (UK) and the Hecny Group (HKG/PRC). TCDC has been declared the front runner in the Karachi Port Trusts tender to build, operate and transfer a US$ 21 Million bulk cargo terminal. The Company therefore has an active interest in the handling of all types of bulk commodities, including where necessary the chartering of vessels to serve the Pakistan markets. The Pak Shaheen Group with offices through Pakistan has recently undergone a major re-engineering process, whereby the existing business units have been substantially strengthened by a strong corporate team of Financial, HR and IT specialists. The expansion of the business activities is in line with Groups strategic policies and growth in both Pakistan and overseas markets.
