From the foundation of the company in 1836 until the enlargement of the European Union in 2004, C. Spaarmann has been mainly working as a customs and cross-frontier transport company. What had been initiated in the middle of the nineties of the 20th century and successfully realised within one decade has become the greatest challenge in the history of the company: The successful development from a family-owned business formerly specialising in customs clearance between East and West to today?s medium-sized, internationally active forwarding and logistics company with offices in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Central Asia. Spaarmann GmbH and Spaarmann Transit Gmbh have been merged in C. Spaarmann Logistics GmbH. Hans-Peter Otto is appointed as managing director. In China and Turkey new offices have been opened. 2007 Formation of a new branch in Lviv (UA). Our air freight department moved in our new office in Frankfurt/Main, Cargo City Sued. Certified to ISO Standard 9001:2000 2006 Opening of the sales offices in Leipzig and K??ln. The subsidiary network in Russia is extended by the new offices in Naberezhnye Tschelny, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don. In Kazakhstan a new office is opened in Astana. 2005 Kosice (SK) und Almaty (KZ) Cooperation contracts have been concluded with forwarding partners in Bishkek (KG) and Tashkent (UZ) so that access to the markets in Central Asia is assured. A cooperation contract will be concluded with RTG Logistics based at Taiwan and branches in China, Korea and Vietnam. Thus C. Spaarmann is opening up to Asian growth markets. 2004 With the enlargement of the European Union there is a second drastic turning-point in the customs sector.
